The Golden Strip Sunrise Club’s grant for 2024 benefits the Miriam Foundation, an organization that provides weekly mentoring, enrichment, overall academic support, and incorporates social emotional learning for girls in the southern tip of Greenville County. The grant will be used to build and maintain pollinator and vegetable gardens in 3 locations. At a luncheon on September 20, it was announced one of the gardens would be named for Frances Scott, Tim Scott’s mother, who has created a foundation in the Lowcountry for single mothers, Raising Up the Lowcountry.
